Hey marcel! I use the 18-50 f/2.8 on my Nikon and it works great in terms of sharpness and focusing. My only gripe is that the rubber on the zoom ring is already loose.

Tamron 17-50 f/2.8!!!

marcel, i have tamron 17-50.. image quality is good but a little soft at 50mm f2.8 but if step down to f4 sharpness is ok... hunts in low light and if you'll buy this lens make sure to check unit for back/front focusing problem.

i think the price of 20.5K for this unit is a bit expensive.. Cheers!!

I would personally go for what I really need. Then after that, what I want about that lens. No sense for me to buy an lens to become unhappy about it's performance. I'll just keep saving up until I'd be able to buy it.

Until then, I have you guys to borrow from. >:)

Alright. So now, its 50/1.4 or Tamron 17-50 at the top of my list.

Reggie, magkano kuha mo sa Tamron? Mas mura ba diyan sa Singapore.

Marcel for what genre of photography? The 18-270 is an all-arounder lens. 28mm is too tight for group photos. The 50mm is considered a portrait lens considering the FOV crop

The superzoom, I wanted, just to replace my kit and 70-300. For walkaround. Not really a priority.

The 50/1.4 is for school programs and miniconcerts I normally cover. I need something fast and sharp with really good focusing. Right now I use an 85/1.8, which does the job nicely, and a 50/1.8 for my backup, not satisfied with the focusing. The extra half stop is a really big bonus.

The wide aperture zoom, or the L, is mainly for children's portraits and class pics, maybe for events too. I need something sharp with really good focusing. I'm normally set at f/5.6. I'm just not satisfied with sharpness of the kit so I normally use a prime. But the focal length is very very limited. So I need a standard zoom that is very sharp at F4-5.6

Thanks again, keep them, suggestions, coming!
